  If you are using a CMS such as Joomla!, AND you create static product pages for each of your product offerings, THEN the CMS should be able to not only give you "related" lists, but also "most popular" and "Latest arrivals" too.

  This as an addition anywhere would increase sales. you provide a service to your clients. Before the cart, on the cart. Doesn't matter. Just add it.
