I suggest you ...

Add shipping charges based on cusomer total (i.e., free ship over $100)

I did user-defined shipping calculations by weight - under a pound is one price, 1-2 pounds another, 2-5 (I think) another, up to the point where over 9 pounds is $12 and it doesn't ever get any worse than that. Now I would like to be able to offer free shipping over, say, $100 without messing up the other shipping ranges. If you agree that this would be helpful, please vote.

Let me make it an even hundred. My client wants to offer free shipping over 45.00. How can I accommodate him?

While workarounds work in MOST situations, I have one that doesn't. So I AM going to yell my request because I believe this is a grass roots level, extremely basic, shipping 101 type, GLARING omission (was that clear enough?).

PLEASE GIVE US THE ABILITY TO HAVE HAVE FREE SHIPPING OVER $x WITHOUT SILLY WORKAROUNDS!!!!!!!

Havign said that, this IS an awesome shopping system and I'm so excited to have found it! Thanks for making it available.

I know you're working on it but I just want to repeat the sentiments of the other 97 comments. Looking forward to the release!

The workarounds will not work well in our situation. Our heaviest items are relatively in low value, whereas our smallest items are high ticket items. We really need a proper implementation of subtotal based shipping rules.

Also very essential. If want to be in cometition with other carts, then this function must be in ecwid. Please add this!

This is what I want to create:

        Order Total Shipping Charge
        Up To $9.99 = $5.95
        $10.00 To $24.99 = $6.95
        $25.00 to $44.99 = $7.95
        $45.00 to $59.99 = $8.95
        $60.00 to $74.99 = $9.95
        $75.00 to $99.99 = $10.95
        Over $100.00 = FREE

        How Do I Do THIS????

This is a huge feature for me. Everyone in my industry is doing it right now except for me, so I really need it!

!Ecwid! Please implement this for us 692 voted folks! This is a make or break it for me. I may have to move along to another cart if not implemented.

Thanks tons for all your hard work! Big Love from Lake Huron area Canada!

Please add this feature soon - the weight=price thing really is no kind of a workaround - because I still need to be able to have the weights calculating correctly so all the orders under the $ amount pay the correct amount of postage .... maybe it could be a great Xmas present for us all ? :)

So I set up my products with the whole "trick the system" with weights thing - and I'm thinking that could end up being a complete nightmare. Hopefully this is going to be coming along soon - along with Gift Certificates! ;-)

      • TonyTony commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

I am setting things up and just saw that this isn't a feature yet! Yikes! Hope it is done soon. This is a sorta-kinda basic need.

As the ability is already there to offer discount shipping on weight surely its not that difficult for the developers to implement the same functionality on price, or am I missing something ?

      • Denis BuchananDenis Buchanan commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

please put a fixed charge per order which can be the handling costs. could be added as an addon to whatever shipping method you use. for me australian post plus fixed charges would be great..

If you are using the Silver Edition, you can create a discount coupon for Free Shipping and manually create the code. I called my test version: FREEGROUNDSHIPPING200. It works for sub-totals in excess of $200, it can have time limits or usage limits. If it is always in place, set it for all customers, all the time. So far, the testing has worked just fine and there are still shipping options displayed, if the customer wants to pay for faster shipping.
