What do you think?AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
We're already working on this feature. Check this screen-shot: http://i.imgur.com/bpaI7.png

Hi fellow Ecwidians,
This is the top voted feature, so it's definitely time to implement it.I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments on how it should work and what you expect from it. As I see there are two main approaches:
1. Apply discount to a particular product price based on a quantity of this product in a cart. For example: an "Ecwid" t-shirt costs $30. If you purchase 5-10 t-shirts, then each one will cost $25. If you purchase 10+ t-shirts, then each will cost $20. So this is actually "wholesale prices" feature.
2. Apply discount to the whole cart based on the overall order total or quantity. I.e. if your order total is more than $200, get a %10 discount.
Well, it is clear, that it is good to have both features. However which one do you want to get the first?

If the idea doesn't have the "planned" or "started" status, it doesn't mean that we aren't going to implement it. All ideas posted here will be implemented, especially those one with many votes. More about statuses in the ideas base: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?p=24905&highlight=planned#post24905

Hmm, the "product combinations" feature can be used as a workaround, if you remove the default "Qty" field and set up product options to work as it

Hi,
All ideas posted in our ideas base will be implemented. Ideas with many votes are implemented in the first place. This feature has not been implemented yet, because we worked on the other also important changes (for example, the most voted "Product combinations" one). However, as I already said, this one will be implemented in the future too.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·

How do you see the correct integration between these features?AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·

I completely agree that this feature is a must. Of course, this is true.
So, or course, it will be implemented in the future.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
> "This is getting very frustrating!!! We need this option NOW! "
Noel,
I completely understand your wish to get this feature. We agree that it is a necessary feature and as I said it will be implemented.
However I'd want to ask you to be more respectful to a team, that works hard day and night to provide you with the free shopping cart, which doesn't require a dime to install and use. Which doesn't require you to maintain and upgrade it. With free help on forums.
All top features in our ideas base will be implemented one by one. If you want to speed up this process, you can upgrade to support our team. It is more effective then the "We want this feature NOW" comments.
If we had a magic wand, which allows to create new features in seconds, we would of course implement all the necessary features immediately to make you happy. Just because it's our goal to make our clients happy.
However in real world new features require time and resources. If we want a feature to be perfect (and we want!), it will require a lot more time and resources. So your patience will be very appreciated.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
I agree that this is a must-have. That's why this feature will be implemented in the future. Unfortunately I cannot give you any exact ETA at the moment.
AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·

Unfortunately there is no exact ETA for this feature yet. As soon as more information is available, I will update this idea.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·

This feature isn't available yet.

> So what is the work around to setting the shipping by "order total" in Ecwid?
Please refer to this thread: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4985
> Or should I just use the percentage setting instead and rewrite the shipping rates on our shipping info page?
It would be a good workaround.
> Is there a place where I can also test the shipping rates as well?
Just change the rates, open your store, refresh the page, add some items to a cart and try to checkout.
AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
> No, I did not see a workaround here. I called PayPal, and they said that I could use my same PayPal shipping calculator settings that I have always used. And that it should over-ride the Ecwid shipping calculations if they are making a PayPal payment and if I change the settings in PayPal to "Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator's settings" Is this correct?
We do not recommend to use this way for 3 reasons:
1. Your customers will see different order totals on Ecwid and PayPal pages. This is confusing.
2. The order in the Ecwid control panel will not have information about shipping set by PayPal.
3. Since the order total sent to PayPal and got from PayPal will be different, then Ecwid will mark this order as suspicious, so its order status will be Queued instead of Accepted. I.e. it will be necessary to change its order status manually.

> Is this feature working yet??? I really need it badly. Please let me know, I'm just wasting my time trying to figure it out. I want to start getting the paid version, but I'm waiting to get my shipping figured out before I add the rest of our products.
Did you try a workaround described in the comments?

Most likely, this feature will be added to v8.0. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any exact ETA of its release date, sorry.

> I would love for table rate shipping to be allowed!
Hi,
Ecwid already allows using table rate shipping. Such user-defined rates depend on the total order weight, number of items and order total.
A general formula for a separate user-defined rate looks like this:If the total order weight is between A and B (e.g.0-200g) and a customer is from zone Z (e.g. USA), then
Shipping = Per_order_fee + Per_item_fee * Number_of_items + Percent_charge% * Order_total + Per_weight_unit_fee * Order_weight
Each formula part can be omitted of course, so for example the shipping can depend only on the number of items.
This very idea is about an easy way of creating such rates which will depend on order total. E.g. rules like: if the order total is between $A and $B, apply this method.

This feature will definitely be implemented in the future.

> I sell books. I would like to charge two different fixed rates. For example: $5 for the 1st book and $2 for each additional book. Or $6 for the 1st book and additional books ship for free. Is there a way of doing this?
Yes, it is possible by means of user-defined rates. Please, create a new thread on our forums and we will help you to set them up.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
> Is there maybe someone who knows a special workaround for this?
As a workaround you can use discount coupons.AdminQetzal (Admin, Ecwid) commented ·
> How many votes does this need to get going ?
> It's hard to find a cart without this feature.
> Can it be that hard to do ?1. Actually the absolute number of votes isn't that important. The more important is the position of the idea in the top ideas list.
2. You're absolute right, that it is a necessary feature. Our company is in e-commerce business for 9 years already and we clearly understand, how important this feature is.
This feature _WILL_ be implemented. And we'll do our best to implement it ASAP.
> Is there a workaround with the weight perhaps - does that have a 'total weight' which in essence could be used as the banding - i.e. product 10.99 - weight = 10.99Kg when spend is say 50+ i.e. 50kg + then free shipping kicks in...??
You can workaround this using the "Free Shipping" coupon: http://kb.ecwid.com/Discount-coupons
